Samsung has replaced its head of mobile design, the man who developed its flagship Galaxy S smartphone series, amid criticism of its latest device and a fresh patent litigation defeat at the hands of rival Apple. Reuters reports that Chang Dong-hoon tendered his resignation from his position as the head of Samsung Electronics’ mobile design team last week, most likely in response to lukewarm reviews of the design of the Galaxy S5. Chat app Line’s increasing revenues show Twitter how it could develop DMs

Mobile messaging service Line is continuing to grow its revenues at an impressive rate, after the company revealed that revenue generated during its first quarter of 2014 period reached 14.6 billion yen, around $143 million. Line doesn’t reveal net profit/loss, but it’s interesting to note that its growth is outstripping that of Twitter. The Japanese company’s revenues have increased 223 percent over the past year and 19 percent over the past three months alone — while Twitter’s most recent quarterly revenue is higher ($250 million), the company’s growth totaled 119 percent year-on-year and was up just 3.2 percent quarter-on-quarter.
