As the App Store becomes increasingly bloated with new releases and updates, it’s harder than ever to find the apps you want. Apple is trying to tackle the problem with an overhauled App Store, which includes a new Explore tab at the bottom for discovering apps. At its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) today, Apple announced a very important update to Siri: you can start talking to her without having to touch your iPhone. This is triggered by the hands-free phrase “Hey, Siri.” As part of the update, Apple has built in Shazam song recognition as well as streaming voice recognition. At WWDC today, Apple announced HealthKit for iOS 8, which will collect data from 3rd party apps and store it in a central repository and Health, which gives you access to that data. HealthKit is a new, central repository where third party apps can store data for quick access and easy reading in one central place, using the Health app. Apple didn’t detail too much, but noted it was working with Nike to integrate its apps with the platform. Apple is revamping the stock keyboard for iOS devices. The company today unveiled QuickType, which supports predictive typing suggestions. As you type, you’ll get suggestions for what you might want to type next, which adapts based on what’s been said and who you’re messaging. As you type, you’ll now see some suggestions just above the keyboard. These will be selected, at least in part, by what’s already been said in the conversation. For instance, if your friend asks whether you would like to have dinner or see a movie, the first three suggestions are “not sure,” “a movie” and “dinner.”…
