Microsoft previews Azure’s Live Streaming and Content Protection, makes Media Indexer generally available

Microsoft today released the public previews of Live Streaming and Content Protection offerings as part of its Azure Media Services suite. At the same time, the company announced Azure Media Services Indexer is now generally available. Microsoft touts that it is now the only provider that offers live streaming as part of an end-to-end workflow. Live Streaming enables its customers to stream their own HD quality live events, and create live linear and live to video on demand (VOD) experiences. Deezer announces US launch with new high-quality music streaming service

Deezer, the second-largest streaming music service in terms of paid subscribers, has announced its US debut with the upcoming launch of a new high-resolution subscription. Dubbed Deezer Elite,  the premium offering works exclusively on Sonos systems and offers audio quality on par with CDs. US customers will have access to the Deezer Elite beta starting September 15 through a partnership with Sonos and its professional installers. The service will then roll out globally at a later date.
