Livefyre has launched a new version of its Storify social content service, marking its biggest update since acquiring the company a year ago. With the launch, Storify has rebranded its VIP service as Storify Enterprise and included real-time collaboration features. Multiple enterprise users will now be able to work on the same story simultaneously and see who’s making changes. The service also now has an autosave feature active for every keystroke. Additional Storify Enterprise features include undo and redo support, private stories, unrestricted API access, real-time updates for readers, SEO and Google Analytics support. Social coding community GitHub has announced that students will now be able to gain free access to a slew of developer tools. The new initiative is in partnership with a handful of third-parties, and constitutes part of GitHub Education, a dedicated site launched earlier this year to help schools use GitHub in their curriculum. It also offers discounts for students. Now, with the GitHub Student Developer Pack, students can access its hackable text editor Atom (which is normally free anyway, but hey) cloud-application tool Bitnami, ‘crowdsourcing and data-enrichment’ platform Crowdflower, database API Orchestrate and a host of other tools. Microsoft takes on Google Classroom with OneNote class notebooks

Microsoft is combating Google Classroom with its own education platform for teachers and students, called OneNote class notebooks. The service allows teachers to set up OneNote accounts that are synced online using Office 365 and SharePoint Online. Students use the “notebooks” for all of their classwork and teachers can access them at any time to check their progress. Learners also have access to a resource center, where teachers are able to upload all of the documents related to their lectures and assignments.
