Today, phone manufacturing company Foxconn said that it is looking to expand its presence in India and invest more. The firm’s chairman said that it “views the outlook there very favourably” in the country, and may announce new investments in the coming months. The contract manufacturer currently produces phones for Xiaomi and select models for Apple in India. Speaking at Foxconn‘s annual general meeting, Chairman Liu Young-way said that even though the coronavirus pandemic has impacted operations in India, the country is “a bright spot” in the company prospectus. He said that the firm may reveal its plans in the coming months:…

It’s no secret that Apple is going to announce its move from Intel chip to its own ARM-based processors for Macs at its developer conference later today. Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo bolstered his insider information on the transitions over the weekend and said that the company’s first ARM-based machine will be the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro; it’ll be released in Q4 2020 or Q1 2021. Kuo also said that the Cupertino-based company will release the last Intel-based iMac with thin bezels in Q3 2020. He added that Apple will cease production of Intel-based iMacs, and switch to ARM processors, but there’s no information as…

Today, computers are poised to change buildings once again, this time with algorithms that can inform, refine and even create new…

Earlier today, Snapchat launched a filter that was supposed to honor Juneteenth. It was then promptly removed, because, well, the approach was stupid. Set to a background of the Pan-African flag, the filter prompted users to ‘smile,’ — already looking dicey here — after which virtual chains would are broken. The company was called out for the tactless design after digital strategist Mark S. Luckie showed off the ‘feature’ in the tweet below: This SnapChat #Juneteenth filter is…um…interesting. Smile to break the chains? Okay then. pic.twitter.com/Wyob3kT3ew — Mark S. Luckie (@marksluckie) June 19, 2020 Smile for freedom, folks. guess they thought this…
