There’s a new venture capital fund on the scene in Southeast Asia, after Singapore-based Monk’s Hill Ventures launched a US$80 million (SG$100 million) fund focused on the region. The fund is targeting young companies in the consumer and enterprise technology spaces, with a particular interest in those with e-commerce, mobile, big data and cloud-based services. The aim is to mix investments across early-stage, Series A and Series B funding in Southeast Asia, with growth rounds for international companies that want to expand into Asia. Google updates Nik analog effects photo plug-in

Google has released an upgrade to its photo enhancement plug-in package, Analog Efex Pro. Version 2 is available as a free upgrade for all existing Nik Collection users. A free 15-day trial version is also available. Analog Efex Pro recreates classical, vintage and alternative photographic processing techniques to give images a unique and old-fashioned look. The upgrade features new control points, cameras and presets, and new ways to showcase images. The game everyone loves to hate, Flappy Bird, is returning. Developer Dong Nguyen told CNBC that he’s bringing the game back with a multiplayer feature. Now two people can be infuriated by the game at once. Nguyen had pulled the game out of the Apple App Store and Google Play after its sudden popularity infringed on his quiet life. The game is expected to drop in August.
