A futuristic Google tablet is in the works, which is packed with sensors and has advanced software that can take precise 3D images of objects, the Wall Street Journal reports. The tablet is said to have a seven-inch screen, and will come with two back cameras and infrared depth sensors. According to the Journal, the effort stems from a Google research project, known as Project Tango. In February, Google released a prototype smartphone out of that group, which also boasted sensors that could come up with a 3D map of your surroundings. Google is said to plan to produce about…

Paul Jarvis is a Web designer and bestselling author. His upcoming book, The Good Creative, explores 18 traits of the world’s most interesting and respected creative professionals. Say you look at your stats and see you received a single visitor to your website today. Awful, right?  Maybe you didn’t write that good of a post, you’d think. Or maybe you need to change a call to action, since they didn’t subscribe or buy anything. Or maybe you need to promote your work more on Google+. For most creatives (even those of us who don’t have a heavy online presence), this…

Facebook today updated its Pages feature with the ability for businesses to add menus. According to the Facebook Help Center, the option will only appear to an administrator if they have selected “Restaurant/Cafe” as their Page’s category. Facebook has partnered with Constant Contact to leverage its SinglePlatform system for handling menus. Businesses that already work with SinglePlatform will see their menu automatically added to their Page. Since Constant Contact’s platform is only available in the US or Canada, Facebook is also letting businesses upload a PDF of their menu (go to Settings => Page Info => Menus) directly to their…

Hong Kong's First Bitcoin Counter Opens To The Public
Bitcoin and crypto currencies in general are difficult to explain. Bitcoin wallet app QuickCoin doesn’t get into the weeds about block chains, Hashcash and mining. Instead of trying to explain the back-end details of the currency it does one thing, it lets you send money quickly and easily. The QuickCoin app uses Facebook Login and lets users send Bitcoins quickly and painlessly to friends and family. The service is currently in open beta. It’s browser-based and so far there are no plans for a native Android or iOS app.  CEO Nathan Lands says the goal is to make an app for regular people. You just sign…

This post originally appeared on the Buffer blog. Do you know what you’re posting, sharing, and blogging this Thursday? How about two Thursdays from now? Thursday of next month? Thursday of next year? We don’t have things figured out quite to that extreme here at Buffer, but we do have some idea of what’s ahead. (Those of you who are yearly planners, our hat’s off to you!) Planning content far into the future is a common element of many marketing strategies, and the erstwhile content calendar—in its many shapes and forms—fits this role perfectly. What calendar do you use for…
