The G3, LG’s new flagship smartphone, will go on sale worldwide from June 27 — this coming Friday — beginning in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines, the company has announced. The next phase will see the device reach Asia, Europe, the Middle East and other regions at various points in July. The device has been available to customers in LG’s native Korea since last month — the company says the phone has made a “strong debut,” but it did not provide specific sales figures. We put the device through its paces in May and were impressed by its solid camera performance, sleek design and…

The virtual world, Second Life celebrated its 11th birthday last Friday. To the average person, Second Life is that thing they signed up for years ago, walked around for 10 minutes and never returned to again. But, the virtual world’s marketplace has been a boon for creators and now the company behind Second Life, Linden Lab, is building a new world from scratch. Even the company’s new CEO Ebbe Altberg understands that in its current form, Second Life is a niche product. Music streaming service Deezer has announced that Premium+ subscribers will soon be able to make use of Google Chromecast integration, allowing them to ‘cast’ content directly from the Deezer apps for iOS and Android devices to a big screen. As well as offering basic Chromecast support, the update also allows multiple Deezer users to control the app on one TV simultaneously, thereby providing a handy way to co-create a playlist in a roomful of friends. These can also include Deezer-curated suggestions. The update is timed nicely to coincide with an introductory discount for Deezer Premium +, which normally costs £9.99 per month…

FRANCE-US-INTERNET-CULTURE-GOOGLE

Google today revealed that it is building a domain registration service called Google Domains. The product is still an early work in progress, so it’s in invite-only beta for now. Google’s small business-facing division decided to build the product because, according to its research, 55 percent of small businesses still don’t have a website.
