BitTorrent is calling for Sync community testers ahead of significant client update

BitTorrent is launching a Community Testers Program for its multi-platform file synchronization tool Sync to get feedback ahead of a significant update scheduled for release later this summer. Announced today in a blog post, the program will give interested users the chance to play with the new Sync client before it is released more widely. Among the features currently all but confirmed for the update are a redesigned UI, the ability to share files by sending a clickable link and the option to share files from Finder and Windows Explorer. Box brings its Notes collaborative document service to iOS

Box has added support for its Box Notes service to its iOS app. The feature is available for both iPhone and iPad. Notes was first announced last September, but it didn’t reach general availability until last month. Android support for Notes is coming later this summer. Box touts Notes as a better alternative to the many existing note-taking services because its offering is “built for business.” If you’re already using Box for your company’s cloud storage service, you’ll have convenient access to your notes and your files and documents in a single app. If you’re not, then you can probably just stick with Evernote….

Google Glass finally arrives in the UK, the first country outside the US

Fed Chair Janet Yellen Gives NYU Commencement Speech At Yankee Stadium
Google Glass, the head-mounted wearable computer unveiled more than two years ago, is finally available outside the US. After appearing in a support page linked to hardware availability, Google has launched the long-awaited device in the UK. The Explorer Edition is being sold through the Google Play store for £1,000 and is available in Cotton, Charcoal, Tangerine, Shale and Sky. Google is also selling the frames from its Titanium collection as an optional add-on. Each Explorer Edition comes with an extra frame or shade for free; otherwise, the frames are being sold for £175 each, while the shades cost £120 individually….

Microsoft increases OneDrive’s free cloud storage limit to 15GB, now gives 1TB to Office 365 users

Microsoft has today announced a ream of pricing and plan updates for its OneDrive cloud storage service, which include increasing capacity and cutting the cost of additional space. Free OneDrive users previously got up to 7GB of storage space simply for signing up, but soon everyone will be able to store up to 15GB of files without handing over a penny. Additionally, Microsoft said that its paying Office 365 customers will all get up to 1TB of space included as part of their plan. Office 365 Home ($9.99 per month) users will get 1TB per person for up to five people and Office…

Amazon now offers free, ad-supported first episodes in its Instant Video for iOS app

Amazon today updated its Instant Video iOS app to add support for its First Episode Free offer for checking out TV shows. Previously, only Kindle Fire and Roku devices had access to the program. The free episodes are available for select shows and include advertising before, during and after playback.       Also included in Amazon’s Instant Video update are new playback controls, HBO shows on Prime Instant Video and faster playback time. ➤ Amazon Instant Video | iOS  [h/t 9to5Mac]
