Why mobile advertising isn’t as huge as it’s hyped to be (yet)

Christof Wittig is founder and CEO at LiquidM, a white-labeled Mobile Advertising Management Platform (MAMP).  Mobile is huge, tech pundits say. But most of them miss the fact that mobile advertising isn’t growing anywhere near the pace of mobile adoption. As Mary Meeker’s 2014 Internet Trends Report shows, mobile ads still represent just a fraction of the global Internet advertising spend, which is still dominated by desktop-based ads. And if mobile content can’t make enough money through advertising, mobile is largely unsustainable as a media platform.  This is a big problem for the industry, and while analysts like Meeker do a…

Chronicunlocks circumvents iPhone Activation Lock feature for $150

Sometimes you forget a password and sometimes that password is the iCloud password associated with your iPhone. Now instead of a smartphone, you have a very expensive glass and metal paperweight. Chronicunlocks has an iCloud Removal Tool service that’ll help you regain control of your phone and it’ll only cost you $150. Apple’s Activation Lock is supposed to lower the chances of an iPhone (or iPad) being useful to thieves. It’s a second layer of security that ties the device to your iCloud account. As 9to5Mac reports, Activation Lock has helped reduce iPhone thefts. This service disables that second layer of protection….

Job Seekers Attend Denver Job Fair
Whether we like it or not, these days, tech is one of the most important aspects of business — even for businesses that aren’t primarily tech-focused. Hiring the perfect technical lead is crucial to your product’s success, but if you’re not a technical person yourself, finding that person can be tough. With this in mind, I asked a panel of successful founders from the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) the following question: What is one unusual way you vet potential technical hires and why does it work? Their best answers are below: 1. Have Them Duplicate a Task We’ll give a…

Summer vacation is awesome. You have three whole months to sit around and gradually get bored. Fortunately, for the creative and technically minded teen, Google and Maker have teamed up for the Maker Camp, a six week do-it-yourself online event that’ll get kids excited about building and exploring technology. It’s like your own personal Maker Faire at home. Maker Camp takes place via Google Hangouts every weekday starting July 7. The day’s Hangout start at 11AM PT and include projects (last year they made a piano out of a banana), activities, talks with people like astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and virtual field-trip Fridays. The…
