The latest Google Camera update features the ability to take a photo using an Android Wear watch as a remote shutter. Selfies just got about 100 times better. The update is available now from Google Play and adds a card to an Android Wear watch that appears when the app is launched on an tablet or smartphone. Tap the card and you get a three second countdown before a photo is taken by your Android device. A preview of the image you shot even shows up on your smartwatch. While notifications are nice, it’s tiny little features like this that…

DJ
Edjing, an app that allows users to mix tracks streaming from Deezer and other music services, has announced a significant update today which brings new social features, a refreshed UI and access to a larger music catalog. The company says that the new version offers access to more than 50 million streaming tracks in total, 30 million of which come from Deezer, while the rest are from SoundCloud. Naturally, you can use locally stored files too. As part of its ongoing relationship with Deezer, the app also now includes Deezer’s own track recommendation tools like Top Charts, Deezer Picks and…

Japanese messaging app Line is planning a major push into the US market with a focus on casual gaming, as it approaches 500 million registered users and rumors of a planned IPO continue to ring stronger. The company initially targeted the North American market last year, but, as executives told us, the focus shifted to Latin America in 2013 because the “timing there was more critical.” Now, Line is turning its attention back to the US, where it believes that a combination of localized games, engagement from consumer brands and, of course, stickers — something it is synonymous with — can help crack the…

SprintProjector
Something we don’t see too often is a projector that doubles up as a mobile hotspot, but that’s the unlikely pairing the Sprint LivePro is promising to deliver. The device is capable of projecting content from 10-inches to 10-feet and offers up 3G/4G mobile connectivity that can handle up to eight WiFi devices at the same time. As well as this, it sports a 4-inch display and is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, allowing you to use it to browse the internet in style and access the content you may want to project. It’s also worth mentioning that the…

Google now lets you mirror your Android phone and tablet on your TV with Chromecast

Posted In: Around the Web, Gadgets, Google, Mobile

Originally announced at Google I/O 2014 last month, Android mirroring has now arrived on the Chromecast. The feature means you can now see your phone or tablet on your TV, navigating your apps, content, and anything else you want, just in a bigger form. To start mirroring, fire up the Chromecast app on your Android device, open the navigation drawer, select “Cast Screen” and choose the Chromecast device connected to your TV. If you have a Nexus device, the feature can be accessed through the quick settings menu. In traditional Google fashion, the feature is launching in beta. You can…
