After taking more than a few years to get Office on the iPad, Microsoft is wasting no time updating the productivity suite. That’s good news for anyone about to give a PowerPoint presentation. The iPad version of Office now supports exporting files to PDF from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This can be done even without an Office 365 subscription. For PowerPoint users, today’s update is extra helpful with Presenter View available on the iPad when the presentation is being shown on another display like a projector. Plus, you can now embed photos and videos into your presentations directly on the iPad…

Gregory Ciotti is the marketing director at Help Scout. This post originally appeared on the Help Scout blog. One of the more iconic phrases in customer service is “give ‘em the pickle,” drawn from a story by Bob Farrell regarding an unhappy customer who couldn’t get extra pickles for his hamburger. The customer actually wrote a letter detailing the frustration he felt in his inability to get said pickles. Twitter acquires the team behind password manager Mitro as the project goes open source

Twitter has acquired Mitro, the maker of a password manager. As part of the announcement, Mitro’s product has been open-sourced with the help of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The goal is to switch the Mitro service to a community-led project in hopes of allowing it to operate for the “foreseeable future.” The Mitro team will work on “geo-related projects” for Twitter’s location division in New York. ➤ Mitro is joining Twitter and is now open source
