Google Classroom, an education platform for teachers, opens to all Apps for Education users

After releasing a preview in May, Google is making its free Classroom tool available for anyone with a Google Apps for Education account. Classroom offers a single dashboard and unified system for Google’s other services, such as Docs, Drive and Gmail, so that teachers can easily deliver classroom materials and assignments with their students. Lecturers can create new classes and manually add students, or share a unique code so that relevant learners can add quickly add themselves. Skype for modern Windows now lets you edit and remove messages, gets improvements to video messages

Skype today updated its modern Windows app (read: Metro version) with the ability to edit messages and improvements to video messages. You can download the new release now directly from the Windows Store. Here’s the Skype 3.1 for modern Windows changelog: Having second thoughts? Edit or delete messages you just sent. Get notifications and improved accessibility for video messages. To edit or remove a message, just tap or right click it to highlight the text, and then select “edit message” or “remove message” as needed. You can remove multiple lines in sequence. The original creators of Siri are working on a new artificial intelligence system called Viv that they hope will be able to handle more complicated requests than Apple’s or Google’s smart assistants. Dag Kittlaus, Adam Cheyer and Chris Brigham, the founders of Viv Labs, reckon Viv’s unique selling point is that it can analyze different nouns in a sentence to come up with a useful answer. Current virtual assistants wouldn’t be able recognize a question like, for example: “On my way to my brother’s house, I need to pick up some cheap wine that goes well with lasagne,” cites Wired….
