Quotable

"Obama's first televised address to the nation from the Oval Office proved one thing: He is fundamentally transforming America, into a nation of polluted waters and lands, political name calling, and a clear plan to fail everybody, except the enemies of America. And yes, I do believe he loves America. I just think he's a hyphenated-American. To be specific, when it comes to his politics, I believe he's what is known as an idiotic-American." ~ Yasha Harari

HTC-One-M8-for-Windows_2_blog

HTC has confirmed what we’ve all known for a little while now: it is launching a Windows Phone 8-based version of its flagship Android handset on the Verizon network in the US. Announced today in a blog post, the phone will offer a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 5-inch full HD display, 32GB of onboard storage (plus support for microSD cards up to 128GB), HTC’s ‘Ultrapixel’ camera and the Windows Phone 8.1.1 operating system with Cortana.   Despite having a new OS under-the-bonnet, HTC has also ported across its custom UI tweaks like BlinkFeed and features like Video Highlights. Seemingly geared only…

In addition to the Android tablet release, Microsoft today updated its modern Windows app (read: Metro version) with support for printing, file insertion, and highlighting. You can download the new version now directly from the Windows Store. First and foremost, the app now lets you print your notes, something Microsoft says students in particular have been requesting. The company said “printing is the single biggest feature request.” OneNote now supports everything you might need: full color page previews, portrait and landscape orientations, multiple copies, duplex printing, and so on. To print your notes, just swipe from the right to display…

Microsoft today updated its OneNote app for Android with optimizations specifically for tablets. You can download the new version now directly from Google Play. While OneNote has technically worked on Android tablets before, the devices merely had access to a blown-up smartphone interface. Now the app has been optimized for tablets, with a completely redesigned UI that lets you quickly move between your notebooks and sections on larger touchscreens. Next up, handwriting support, which Microsoft says “has been the biggest feature request,” is now a go. Today’s update lets you take handwritten notes (which will naturally sync across all your…

Atlhete using a LYNX sensor for time com

When it’s raining outside or you’re tired after a long day at work, summoning the motivation to go running can be difficult. Today, RunKeeper is providing an extra incentive through a new rewards program courtesy of Kiip, which offers discounts, freebies and other optional prizes as you hit new milestones and improve your fitness levels. The exact criteria for unlocking these rewards is unclear at the moment, although RunKeeper has hinted that they’ll pop up “from time to time” after you’ve “accomplished something awesome.” Perhaps that ambiguity is for the best; if you knew exactly which milestones would unlock goodies,…

Barcelona Cabs Strike Against Uber Taxi App

Uber has branched out from providing on-demand rides for passengers to offer on-demand product deliveries for people living in Washington DC as part of an experimental service. Starting today, Uber users can request items like “allergy medicine, diapers, toothpaste and over 100 other items” through the Uber app. All you need to do is toggle to the ‘Corner Store’ option and select a delivery location within the operational area, then, if a driver is available, Uber will send you a message with a link to items available for purchase. As with other Uber payments, no cash is required and users are charged directly…
