Condo Units For Sale In Manhattan's Soho Neighborhood Offer Parking Spot For One Million Dollars

When you next hail a taxi on a street corner, there’s a chance you’ll be able to climb inside and pay for your journey with the Hailo app. Hailo is launching a new service today called ‘Pay with Hailo,’ which means that even when you haven’t booked a taxi with the Hailo app, partnered drivers can accept or offer the app as a way to settle the final cab fare. It’s being launched today in Ireland and the city of Boston, which Hailo says already covers thousands of taxis. In the coming weeks, the company will expand the payment option to…

A few days ago we added Safari push notifications for OS X to our site. That doesn’t mean you can’t use it if you don’t use Safari though. You’ll need Safari to activate your notifications but after that you can switch back to any other browser if you prefer. To get notifications activated navigate to http://thenextweb.com/notifications and click the ‘Allow’ button on the browser pop-up. From that moment on, whenever a new post is published you’ll get a discreet banner in the top right of your monitor screen. On the Notifications page you can also fine-tune which notifications you get. The ‘All posts’…

Max Ogles is the head of marketing for Mobile Coach, a startup that uses text messaging to influence employees with personalized engagement. He also has a forthcoming e-book, “Boost: Create Good Habits Using Psychology and Technology,” that you can receive for free here. Thanks to Apple’s upcoming release of HealthKit, it won’t be long before everyone with an iPhone has access to health and quantified self tools, whether or not they want them. Of course, hundreds of apps have offered similar features and functionality for some time, but with HealthKit as a default in iOS, a large new audience will…

If you’re an eBay enthusiast, either for buying or selling, there’s an updated Android app for you to download from the Google Play store. Version 2.7 brings a “fresh new look” that seems to have taken at least a few visual cues from Google’s Material Design playbook. The new aesthetic is clean and flat, with a predominantly white color scheme and minimal shadows. The home screen offers a search bar and a shortcut to your basket, as well as an easy way to review followed sellers, searches and a personalized feed of items. eBay has made images larger and revamped…

MEETINGS

Last year, we brought you the lowdown on Speek, a startup that’s setting out to disrupt the conference call market with simplicity and WebRTC. In a nutshell, Speek offers an easy way to organize and join a conference call – no downloads, PINs or complicated setting up required. The call initiator/organizer sets themselves up with an account and secures their own username, which subsequently serves as a unique link for all future conference calls – this would look like: speek.com/YourName. This link is then used by anyone who wishes to join the call, and can be disseminated by email, instant…
