At its Atmosphere Live event today, Google shared some important Google Cloud Platform news. The first comes in the form of a price cut for Google Compute Engine and the second is a milestone for Google Drive. Urs Holzle, Google SVP of Technical Infrastructure, announced a 10 percent price reduction for all Google Compute Engine instances types, across all regions. New York City launches Digital.NYC, a Web portal for the city’s startups and tech scene

At an event today, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio launched Digital.NYC, a website designed to be a comprehensive “hub for tech and startups” in the city. Mayor de Blasio called the portal “the ultimate tech matchmaker.” The site includes sections for news, a startup database and map, events, videos, resources, workspace listings and jobs. At launch, the site includes listings for roughly 6,000 startups.
