At its HTC Double Exposure event, HTC introduced its newest smartphone, the Desire Eye. The new phone comes with a 5.2-inch HD 1080 x 1920 display with 424 ppi and has the same 13MP wide-angle camera on the front and back of the device. Both lenses also have dual-LED flashes, so no more dark seflies. The phone has a unibody construction with a plastic case that’s IPX7 waterproof up to 30 minutes in one meter of water. After securing $2.4 million in seed funding, Jukely, a social platform for recommending and finding concerts, announced it’s piloting a $25 unlimited concert program in NYC. Basically, subscribers receive notifications about local concerts and are then able to RSVP online for the ones they want to attend. New York City now has its own top-level domain: .NYC

New York City today celebrated the launch of the .NYC top-level domain, making it the first US city with a custom extension. You’ll need a physical address in NYC in order to register a domain, which starts at $29.99. Both individuals and businesses are eligible, as long as they live within the five boroughs. Last week, New York launched Digital.NYC, a comprehensive portal for the city’s startup and tech ecosystem. Paris, Berlin and London also have their own generic top-level domains. ➤ Ownit.NYC

Microsoft rolls out OneDrive update for iOS, bringing PIN code and Touch ID support

Microsoft has today announced a minor update for its iOS OneDrive app, which brings a couple of UI tweaks designed to increase security and make the most of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus’ additional screen real-estate. Most notably, the update adds the ability to set a PIN code lock in order to access the app and adds support for Apple’s Touch ID, thereby allowing you to unlock it with your fingerprint.
