Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi reveals plans for an Indian data center in 2015

Xiaomi, the Beijing, China-based electronics company said today that it plans to open a data center in India soon. Just days after a circular was sent out by the Indian Air Force to its personnel and their families warning them not to use Xiaomi smartphones owing to privacy concerns, the Chinese smartphone maker has announced that it will set up a data center in India in 2015 to handle local user data, according to Reuters. Microsoft’s Xbox One gaming console will be getting a $50 price cut in the US for a limited time in a bid to take on Sony’s rival PS4 system during the holiday season. Announced today, the $50 reduction takes the base cost of the console to $350 and will also be applicable against special edition bundles that include games too. Trouble is brewing in Hungary, as thousands of concerned citizens took to the streets in Budapest to protest a new proposed tax on internet use.
