The rise of Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has been impressive, and today it has revealed that is has sold more than 500,000 OnePlus One handsets since it was first announced in April this year. The figure was revealed in an interview with Forbes, and the company’s co-founder Carl Pei said there’s now a stretch goal of one million units before the end of the year. Perhaps more impressive than the sales numbers of the fledgling device maker is the fact that all of this has been achieved on a marketing budget of just $300 – all of which was spent…

Yummly has today announced the launch of its recipe search and discovery app for Android devices. Available on iOS since September 2013, it’s only now that Android-owning foodies can get in on the action and browse recipe recommendations, search for specific dishes and curate their own collection of favorites. With more than one million recipes on the platform, there search filter will probably come in handy to help you cut through the chaff and get straight to dishes relevant to your needs. After donating $25 million to fight the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is inviting all 1.3 billion users of the social network to join the battle, by making it easy to donate to organizations involved in tackling the deadly disease. Facebook’s first move, rolling out later today, is a new Donate button displayed above the News Feed, that lets users send monetary contributions to three non-profit organizations who are actively managing the crisis in West Africa: International Medical Corps, the Red Cross and Save the Children. In addition, Facebook is working with UNICEF to display Ebola…
