Last week, Reddit announced it was giving 10 percent of its gross ad revenue to charities chosen by its community and opening a vote to decided which 10 would benefit. Now we have the results and the selection is about as Reddit-like as could imagine. The list includes tech non-profits – the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Tor Project, the Free Software Foundation and the Wikimedia Foundation – and organizations dedicated to studying the effects of psychedelic drugs – the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies and the Erowid Center. There’s also a non-theist charity – the Freedom From Religion Foundation – with the rest of…

After both sides of the debate shared their thoughts on today’s historic vote, the FCC has voted to reclassify ISPs as Title II utilities and put these companies under its authority in a three to two vote. Citymaps, the social mapping platform, has launched on Android. We first wrote about the company way back in 2012 and its free app has been on iOS for some time. The company’s angle is that it lets you create playlists of your favorite places and build personal maps. The big change with its latest update is the introduction of collaborative maps, which allow you to build and share collections with friends. You can together a pub crawl with friends laying out your favorite watering holes on a map or collaborate on a walking tour of interesting historical locations near you, if you want to…

Apple has just announced it will be holding its next media event on March 9 – less than two weeks from now – in San Francisco. In typical Apple fashion, details are virtually non-existent at this point, but we’d be willing to be many an iPhone that it’ll mark the official launch of the Apple Watch. At the last event in September, attendees were only allowed to see the watch running in demo mode, so this will likely mark the first time the company shows the watch working in full capacity. Apple has yet to extensively discuss details like battery life,…
