Tech5
Congratulations to social enterprise Fairphone on being named the fastest-growing startup in the Netherlands. Speaking about the company’s win, its founder Bas van Abel said: As a social enterprise, winning this award proves that purpose and profit can go hand in hand. It is also a great consumer statement, who have voted with their wallets and show that there is a market for ethical electronic products. TNW and Adyen hosted the Dutch awards event last week in Amsterdam’s EYE Film Institute. The five finalists were Bynder, Sendcloud, imgZine, The Cloakroom and of course, Fairphone. Keys are an age-old form of security that, for the most part, still haven’t gone digital. We all walk around with this collection of oddly shaped metal objects kept together by the classic key ring, enemy to fingernails everywhere, so we can lock and unlock doors at our homes, in our cars, and out and about. While it’s not easy to instantly make your keys disappear in favor of a digital solution, you can make them a lot more organized and convenient with one easy tool: the KeySmart 2.0. Get it now for just $17 with extender at TNW Deals,…

facebook_like
A study commissioned by the Belgian Privacy Commission has found that Facebook is tracking all users of its social networking site, even if they’ve opted out of tracking. Under EU law, any website must get the user’s permission before placing any cookies on their computer. Among other practices, it’s the automatic placement of tracking cookies that interact with its social plugins found on millions of different websites,…
