Back in February, Google announced that it’s testing an augmented reality (AR) feature in its Maps app for a limited number of users. Now, the search giant said today it’s rolling out this function, officially called Live View, to more phones, and shifting the feature to beta status from alpha. Google said it has tested the Live View with the Local Guides and Pixel community over the past few months, and now the company is introducing it to Android and iOS devices that support ARCore and ARKit. When cryptocurrencies were soaring in value in late 2017 to early 2018, crypto-jacking was all the rage with opportunistic hackers. Thankfully, it’s not been quite as popular in recent times, and recent findings might make it even less so. New academic research, spotted by ZDnet, has found that crypto-jacking is way less efficient at generating website revenue when compared to traditional web-based advertising. The researchers say a website that includes three adverts can make five and a half times more money than a website that uses crypto-jacking to generate income.
