In May, OnePlus went all out with its OnePlus 7 Pro, which had a beautiful 90Hz curved screen and a triple camera setup. Now, the company’s bringing some of this stuff to at a lower price with the new OnePlus 7T. The phone gets a minor processor bump in Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+. The 7T has gained a very little screen space from the OnePlus 7, it gets support for 90Hz refresh rate. Which makes it a super responsive and smooth display. In the camera department, the new phone gains a wide-angle camera over its predecessor. Take a look at the…

After months of hype, OnePlus has launched its first TV, the 55 Q1 Pro. As you can tell, this is a 55-inch model, and it comes with Android TV on board – as well as a couple of custom features from the company. The 55 Q1 Pro features a 4K HDR-capable QLED VA panel, framed by a narrow bezel on three sides. At the bottom, you’ll find an eight-speaker module that runs along nearly the entire length of the TV and slides down from behind the display to position itself just beneath it. You can control it with an included…

The company behind niche cryptocurrency Zcash is urging the network to upgrade node software to the latest version immediately, as it contains an “important security fix.” “Users should upgrade their nodes to [version 2.0.7-3] immediately and discontinue use of older versions,” reads a bulletin dated September 24. The post re-assures users this “important” security scenario doesn’t put funds at risk of “theft or counterfeiting,” before promising more details at a future date. Earlier this year, news broke that Zcash developers had kept an epic vulnerability secret for eight months before it was patched. The flaw, if exploited, would’ve allowed infinite amounts of Zcash…

Amazon’s Echo Buds look impressive, but they won’t trouble AirPods

Sep26

You can barely move these days for true wireless earbuds. You have the incredibly popular Apple AirPods, the brilliant-sounding Sennheiser Momentum, a whole load of cheap knock-offs — and, now, Amazon‘s Echo Buds. There’s no doubt these things are going to be popular, but I can’t seem them dislodging Apple‘s AirPods as the de facto wireless earbuds in the true wireless space. So, let’s get into. Price-wise, Amazon‘s earbuds will retail for about $130, which is $30 cheaper than the AirPods. This also makes them less expensive than pretty much any of their big name competitors, which is pretty alluring. Amazon‘s…

Studying brains can explain why tech affects men and women differently

Sep26

There’s countless research from academics trying to prove whether there are any clear neurological differences between cisgenders. And while some claim there are big distinctions , others argue, for example, that women tend to be more prosocial as a result of how their brains function.  An article written by Julie Jargon, on September 24 for The Wall Street Journal highlighted how many parents of both boys and girls have seen obvious differences in the way their children interact with technology. Generally boys gravitate towards video games whereas, girls seem to spend more time endlessly scrolling through social media.  In 2017,…
