It seems US authorities aren’t yet done with controversial cryptocurrency Tether. The ‘USD-backed’ stablecoin is now being probed by the country’s Justice Department, according to a Bloomberg report. The US Department of Justice (DOJ) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) together launched a criminal probe into cryptocurrency market manipulation in May. Here’s an extraordinary fact about the 2018 bear market: business for Bitcoin-lawyers is booming. Forty-five lawsuits involving cryptocurrency were filed in the first half of this year, reports blockchain research unit Diar. That’s triple the amount of all the lawsuits filed last year. Don’t freak out if you see your Instagram audience shrink in the near future. The company announced that it’s kicking off a clean-up drive to remove bots and fake accounts from its platform, and that may well lead to a drop in your follower count. The Facebook-owned firm, which claimed to have over a billion users worldwide in June, noted in a blog post that it will start taking action on accounts with “inauthentic activities:” Starting today, we will begin removing inauthentic likes, follows and comments from accounts that use third-party apps to boost their popularity. We’ve built machine learning tools to…
