Vimeo acquires Cameo, a video recording, editing and sharing app for iPhone

Vimeo today announced it had acquired Cameo, an iPhone app for shooting, editing and sharing videos. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Vimeo says the team will continue to work on the Cameo app. It will not be shuttered, at least not for the forseeable future, and it will live alongside the Vimeo service and its dedicated mobile apps. The Cameo team will now report to Andrew Pile, the chief technology officer for Vimeo, but they won’t be contributing to any Vimeo products.
