Google’s Kit Kat update for Glass is coming later this week, but video calling is out for now

Google has announced a major update to its Glass firmware coming later this week, but the move to Kit Kat also leaves behind a key feature: video calls. The Glass team said the decision didn’t come lightly, but it decided to pull video calls because they weren’t living up to standards. Even so, the company says only 10 percent of Glass Explorers use the feature. Google didn’t provide a timeline on when it expects to re-introduce the feature, but it noted that some third-party developers should have their own streaming video solutions coming out soon. TransferWise lands on Android to help you transfer money to friends and family anywhere

TransferWise, the London-based startup that wants to make transferring money between currencies effortless and inexpensive, has finally launched a native Android app. TransferWise is a peer-to-peer service that sidesteps bank fees and lets you switch money directly to users in other countries. Though it has previously had an app available on Google Play, it was actually just a shortcut to its website and lacked any real ‘native’ functionality.
