Ashley Hefnawy is an editorial assistant and a content producer for Shutterstock’s blog. This post was originally published on the Shutterstock blog and has been adapted with permission. Natural wonders of the world can be truly mind-boggling. Man-made objects are only so powerful, until they meet their eventual maker: nature itself. In parts of Utah, Colorado, and New Hampshire, the perfect juxtaposition of man-made and nature exists in the form of massive ice sculptures. These formations were actually part of a larger project called Ice Castles—made from 20,000,000 pounds of ice, these magnificent creations were built by people and widely explored. The structures are comprised…

Andrea writes about psychology, creativity, and business over on the Crew blog. It’s 10:00 at night and I’m still thinking about work. Thinking about what I should change in an article, or what I should have done in previous articles. My husband and I are sitting in the same room together, but I’m not really there. I’m half-a-mile away and it’s been like this for months. I’ve done this with every job. I can’t leave work at work—I’ve never known how….

Space X is scheduled to launch a Dragon capsule to the International Space Station today at 3:25 EDT. You can check out the live stream of launch on the company’s site. But, in addition to delivering food and scientific supplies to the ISS, it will conduct a test of its Falcon 9 booster as it aims to make the first stage rocket reusable. The Falcon 9 will have four 25-foot (7.6 meter) long landing legs. The legs will be deployed after jettisoning from the rest of the aircraft and the booster rocket will land in the sea. This is the…

A VBA performance class

Apr18

Hi everyone!

If you write a lot of VBA code you probably sometimes run into performance issues. A customer rings you and complains that the Excel file you built for them does not perform well. I’ve written a small article on my site, inspired by a post here: Error Handling via an Error Class. I needed a quick way to log and report performance of subroutines and I also wanted to see how many times a routine was called.

See: A VBA performance class

Enjoy!
