Mozilla today announced a new certificate verification library in Gecko, the web browser engine used in many of the company’s applications. At the same time, the company is also offering a special $10,000 security bug bounty specifically for certificate verification in Firefox 31, which is currently a Nightly release but is scheduled to launch on July 31. Perennially popular GPS fitness-tracking app RunKeeper has offered training plans for a while already, but with an update rolling out today for its iPhone app, the company is introducing a new feature that aggregates data from across the platform to personalize training plans and goals. The company says that those who complete fitness goals typically log 50% more miles and an average of 30% more workouts per month than those who don’t set goals. Xapo today announced the upcoming release of a MasterCard debit card that ties into its Bitcoin wallet product. Orders for the card start today and should begin shipping in about two months. Customers can order a free digital debit card for online purchases, but physical cards come with a small fee ($15). The debit card will offer the same functionality as your usual bank card, but Xapo will process transactions in realtime to take the money out of your Bitcoin wallet.
