TeeVee has been helping TV fans track their favorite shows for a while already, and with the latest update arriving in the App Store, the app’s users have been given a few extra nuggets to feast on. The now-titled TeeVee 3 app already featured more than 30,000 TV shows, serving up push notifications for when your favorite programs are due to air in your locale. Though, of course, you can’t watch these shows in-app – this is just a tracker. With version 3.0, TeeVee is now universal – meaning it’s now optimized for iPad too, with full syncing enabled via…

With the likes of isoHunt shutting shop, and The Pirate Bay blocked by ISPs in some countries, the humble torrent has been facing a torrid time of late. And the landscape just got a little more ugly, with news that Torrentz.eu, one of the Web’s largest search engines for torrents, has had its domain name suspended. As TorrentFreak reports, the City of London Police has been working with copyright holders to “topple sites that provide or link to pirated content”, and the Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) has now successfully made a request to take Torrentz.eu offline. Torrentz.eu was…

SurveyMonkey has its eye firmly set on Asia. In an interview with TNW on the sidelines of Social Matters in Singapore, SurveyMonkey CEO Dave Goldberg told us that the online survey tools provider is taking steps to “make Asia what could be (its) biggest market eventually” — namely localization, as well as a launch for Android which dominates over iOS in many parts of the continent. SurveyMonkey finally launched its iOS app in February this year, 14 years since the start of its business. Goldberg had noted back then that the company has seen a 14 times increase in its mobile traffic over the…

Buffer buffs up its curated content credentials with new standalone iOS app

May26

Posted In: Apps, Around the Web, Buffer, Product Launches, Product Reviews

Social media sharing service Buffer has launched a new iOS app that helps you share more content (as you’d expect) by serving up suggested content in a more media-centric fashion. Daily by Buffer is available for iOS only at this point, and the company is branding it as ‘Tinder for content sharing’. Just like the popular dating app, the Buffer app lets you swipe right to discard content, but if an article takes your fancy then you can read it or share it via Buffer’s own app/service. The app is just sharing five to six stories per day for now…
