Coffee_headline
Monday is upon us once again, but rather than sitting pining about how quickly the weekend passed, think about all the exciting things that are going to happen in tech this week. Not to forget Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) keynote taking place today, of course. But before we get ahead of ourselves with a new influx of announcements and the news from Cupertino, it’s time to take 10 minutes to catch up on everything you missed from The Next Web and beyond in the last two days. Remember Gangnam Style? The song may no longer be fresh and PSY may no longer be unknown, but it continues to be hugely popular after it became the first video to break two billion cumulative views on YouTube. We haven’t embedded this for two reasons: you’ve already seen it – you’re sick to death of it — and what’s cuter is this GIF that shows the amusing caricatures added by Google/YouTube to mark the milestone. (There was just one dancer when it reached one billion views.) YouTube is emerging as a key platform for both mainstream and new media across Asia and…

Samsung has finally announced the world’s first Tizen smartphone, the Samsung Z. It will be available in Russia in the third quarter of this year, and Samsung says there are plans to expand it to other markets. Other than being equipped with the new Linux-based mobile operating system, the Samsung Z comes with a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor and a 2600mAh battery. It also comes with a built-in fingerprint sensor, which Samsung first introduced in its Galaxy S5 flagship. The Samsung Z has an eight-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera,…
