Google’s Crisis Response tool is designed to make “critical information more accessible in times of disaster”, and has been used in the past for hurricanes and floods. You’ve been busy turning your home into a smart one, but what about your garden? Edyn just kicked off a Kickstarter campaign to build a combination smart soil sensor and a hose attachment so you can easily manage your garden from your smartphone. Edyn’s creator, Jason Aramburu, worked as a soil scientist prior to inventing the company’s devices. The product is designed to help both expert and novice gardeners. Fuse Project contributed to the hardware. The Edyn sensor runs off solar power and connects to your WiFi network. It uses electrical impulses to monitor the state of your soil and…

Wuaki.tv, the fledgling movie and TV streaming platform owned by Japanese internet powerhouse Rakuten, has partnered with Microsoft to launch a new dedicated app for Windows 8.1.
