If you’ve ever booked an airticket and saw options to book hotels or rent a car on top of that — now you may get to see listings of tours and activities from small-scale suppliers in Asia as well. This is probably the result of efforts from BeMyGuest, a Singapore-based startup that just scored S$1 million ($800,000) in seed funding. Apple has been tipped to introduce a split-screen mode to the iPad and iPhone, but the feature isn’t part of its new iOS 8 platform — even though there are hidden references to it in the code base. That hasn’t stopped developer Steve Troughton-Smith from pulling together a video that teases how the feature might work on Apple’s tablet — as 9to5Mac reports. Troughton-Smith edited the iOS 8 iPad Simulator to enable a two-finger swipe that allows the Safari browser to take up 75 percent, half, or 25 percent of the screen. Smartphones have increasingly become a target for people to steal and re-sell, but LG is going all out to stop that from happening successfully with its new G3 smartphone. LG’s latest flagship smartphone, the G3, was unveiled in London late last month — and now the Korean firm has teamed up with McAfee to introduce an anti-theft feature to the device. This comes in the form of a Kill Switch which lets users disable their phones remotely in the event of loss or theft. The software wipes out content so that personal information won’t be compromised.
