eventjoy
Ticketing startup Eventjoy has released an app to help organizers manage their events by monitoring sales, checking-in attendees and sending push notifications. Last month, Eventjoy began offering its ticketing service for free. The startup’s aim is to pursue other premium services, such as promotion and commerce. The new Organizer app takes advantage of the minimalist touch gestures that have been popularized on mobile platforms lately. For instance, users can swipe names on a guest list view in order to check attendees in. The app also supports ticket scanning via QR code. Push notifications initiated in the Organizer app will be…

US-INTERNET-COMPANY-TWITTER
It’s finally here. Twitter today introduced the ability to share and view animated GIFs on Twitter.com, as well as its official Android and iPhone apps. While GIFs have been supported on the service before, it required users to go through the third-party platform Giphy. With today’s update, you can bypass that completely and upload GIFs directly from all of your devices. Animated GIFs are a beloved part of the Web and its official introduction on Twitter is long-awaited. Based on our early tests, it seems these clips won’t play automatically in your stream – similar to Vines and other embedded media, users will…

Virtual travel assistant WorldMate has released a major update for its Android app that makes the homescreen contextually aware and lets you check into your flights. Alongside a complete redesign of the app, WorldMate has reworked its home screen to display different cards depending on where you are in the travel process. Upcoming flights will be pinned to the top of the main page so you can instantly see any changes to your itinerary. The new check-in feature sends you out to the airline’s page and auto-fills relevant information, such as your confirmation code and frequent flyer number. As part of the…

The Google-owned, socially-sourced navigation app Waze for iOS and Android has been updated with a raft of new features today. Among the new headline features is an option which allows users to share a specific location with friends at the click of a button – whether that’s your current location, your destination or your home/work address.
