Dropbox is blocked again in China, both apps and web-based service appear affected

Well, that was brief. Back in February, Dropbox was found to have been unblocked in China, but now it seems that the popular cloud-storage service is no longer accessible in the the world’s largest country, according to tweets from users and data from censorship monitoring organization GreatFire.org. The GreatFire database, which continually tests the accessibility of internet links from inside China to identify new blockages, shows that dl.dropbox.com (used for downloading files) is no longer accessible from inside China, which suggests that its apps will no longer work. In addition, the main Dropbox.com appears blocked there too, according to the organization’s analytics. Since GreatFire monitors…

T-Mobile announces free unlimited music streaming for all its customers

At T-Mobile’s Uncarrier event today, CEO John Legere announced that all of its customers would receive unlimited free music streaming from top services in the market. This includes Pandora, Rhapsody, iHeart Radio, Milk, iTunes Radio, Slacker and Spotify. Beatport is said to be coming soon, and users can vote at Music Freedom to choose which music services to add next. The company also announced a music service of its own called unRadio, created in partnership with Rhapsody. For $4 a month, users can choose from over 20 million songs, with no ads and unlimited skipping and replays. The app will be made available “on all app stores”….

T-Mobile announces ‘Test Drive’, a free service that lets you try the network on an iPhone 5s

At its Uncarrier 5.0 event, T-Mobile today announced “Test Drive,” a new service that will let customers check the quality of the carrier’s network on an iPhone 5s for seven days. The program, in partnership with Apple, kicks off on June 23. After the seven days, you’ll need to drop off the phone at a T-Mobile store, but you won’t have to put any money down for the test. T-Mobile announced new progress with its Wideband LTE and Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services. The company plans to offer full national VoLTE coverage in the US by the end of the year….
