IFTTT makes everything better. Android Wear, while based on the fully mature Android operating system, is still in its infancy. Currently, it’s really great at telling you the time, over-counting your steps, acting as a remote camera shutter, and pinging your wrist every time you get an email or tweet. That’s pretty much it. But you can change that thanks to the power of the cloud-based scripting service, IFTTT. Thanks to IFTTT, you can control the lights in your home, keep track of FourSquare checkins, and generally add features to the watch while we wait for official apps to be…

Wearable maker Misfit and sleep sensor company Beddit have partnered up to release the $149 Misfit Beddit Sleep System, a thin sensor that you place on your bed to collect data about your sleeping habits. Misfit’s Shine activity tracker already offers sleep tracking capabilities, but Beddit’s hardware avoids the complication of having to wear a device while you snooze. Instead, you slide the sensor under your sheets so it lies underneath your body. Beddit then connects to your phone and the Misfit app to transmit data. Beddit collects information about your heart rate, respiration, snoring, sleep cycles and sleep time using…

Airbnb'S Value Estimated At $10 Billion After New Round Of Investments
Airbnb today announced it has revamped its review system to promote more and more honest feedback. Given that the accommodation service is completely built on trust, this feature is arguably the most important to ensuring its continued use: both hosts and guests can make informed decisions before and during the stay. The first change is that reviews will now be revealed to hosts and guests simultaneously: they will only be shown after both participants have completed their assessment of the experience. This is in response to both hosts and guests worrying that if they leave an honest review, they might…

Tanguy Peers is the co-founder of Co.station, a Brussels and San Francisco-based post-accelerator which helps companies expand on both sides of the Atlantic through access to talent, expertise and capital. There are a lot of blogs out there explaining to European startups how to move to the Valley (and how to move around in the Valley once they arrive). There are fewer blogs about startups going the other way, which is understandable. A US startup expanding to Europe will already have a sizable business in the US, and it is often better funded. It has also proven that it can scale at…
