Issuu
Publishing platform Issuu now hosts 16 million publications but sharing highlights from all those magazines, books and documents hasn’t been easy until today with the launch of a new feature called Clip. Clip allows readers to highlight any section of a page and share it with a comment to popular social networks or via email. You can also browse clippings that others have made from any publication to see what they’re interested in. Publishers can create their own clippings to promote particular content, and they’ll receive analytics about the popularity of all the clippings from their documents, giving them insight into what’s working…

Google Maps on the desktop has been updated with a new feature that lets you work out the distance between multiple places by plotting your route on the map. To use the option, you just need to right click anywhere on a map and select ‘Measure Distance’ and then select a destination to see the distance between two points. Additional stops, turns or destinations can be calculated with additional clicks. You can also drag any of your dropped route lines if you want to tweak them a bit or if you want to make them align with actual roads for more accurate route measurement,…

Wix
Wix, a platform that allows you to create free websites, has launched a new product that provides you with the ability to create and distribute newsletters. ShoutOut is the first product to run on the WixHive API, which Wix developed to allow each standalone app to share their own actionable data. Aimed at those who want a quick-and-easy solution to creating newsletters, contacts can be collected automatically via the website, or they can be imported from external email applications. Newsletters can be created and distributed within the Wix dashboard, and they each sport social sharing capabilities and come with an analytics…

Vimeo focuses on music as it gives its newly-acquired video-creation app Cameo its biggest update yet

Cameo - Vimeo
Almost four months after Vimeo snapped up Cameo, the stylish video-creating iPhone app has been given its first major lick of paint by its new owner. To recap, Cameo launched initially for iPhone in October last year, entering what was already a pretty crowded space. While there are similarities with short-form video-creating apps such as Vine and Instagram, Cameo takes the concept further by offering a two-minute maximum sequence length, though individuals clips can be no longer than six seconds long. You can change the order of the clips, add music and invite friends to contribute with their own footage…

The WiFi’s down: Panic!

It might not happen to you too often, but when it does, we bet you notice pretty quickly. That’s right. The WiFi has cut out. Well, it hasn’t, otherwise we couldn’t have brought you this short and to-the-point sketch from comedian Julian Smith about the grip it holds on some people, but if it had, that’s pretty much exactly the state you’d find us in. ➤ YouTube [Via Gizmodo] Featured Image Credit – Shutterstock
