"Scientists have discovered that 'Thinking outside the box might be facilitated by having a somewhat less intact box', which begs the question, why are people always thinking in or around boxes? Maybe it's time we think relative to other things ... like oceans, fields, galaxies, mountains and muppets." ~ Yasha Harari

Before your organization pulls the trigger on a Facebook ad spend, and way before working with a social advertising partner, it’s essential that your team understands your company’s ongoing objectives. Facebook is a powerful advertising platform for advertisers to reach highly targeted customers at scale at various points through the conversion funnel. For advertisers, the Facebook platform offers a variety of tools, ad units and targeting…

Square Reader + iPhone 3G

Square today launched a bug bounty program in conjunction with HackerOne. Rewards start at a minimum of $250 and no maximum is given. The company has outlined requirements in order to identify legitimate security research as opposed to malicious attacks against its services. Square promises not to bring legal action against researchers who: Share the full details of any problem found with Square. International Space Station

Space is beautiful, mysterious and downright captivating. If you’ve been contemplating the best way to keep up with the latest discoveries, missions and updates though, look no further. Internet automation service If This Then That (IFTTT) has you covered. The company has just launched a ‘Space Channel‘ that’s powered by a combination of sources including NASA, How Many People Are In Space Right Now, Open Notify, and the Mars Atmospheric Aggregation System. Available triggers, or the circumstances for which you can automate actions, including breaking news from NASA, when an astronaut enters or exits space, and when a season change is detected…

Today, Emu announced that it was being acquired by Google. The smart messaging service mines your conversations and surfaces relevant information like restaurant and movie reviews. Plus you when you receive or send a message with a time or day (for example: let’s get lunch on saturday), the app gives you the option to create a calendar event based on that information with just a tap. If you’re a fan of the service, today’s announcement is bad news. The company is shutting down its app: That’s right! And we’re super-excited. But to focus on our next chapter, we have to close the last one. As of…
