Fleksy has finally unveiled plans for two major languages on its smart Android keyboard – Chinese and Arabic — opening up the app to hundreds of millions of potential new users. Arabic is now already launched on Fleksy with the latest app update, albeit in a beta version. At the same time, the update also introduces four new themes for those interested in prettifying the interface with custom looks. Chinese support, however, is coming soon — there isn’t a specific timeline yet, but you can register on a sign-up page to be informed when the beta launch rolls out. Fleksy has released a demo…

Macphun has released a major upgrade of its FX Photo Studio photo editing and filtering app for iPhone. The new version 6, targeted to creative hobbyists, sports an interface overhaul, improved image processing algorithms, revised special effects categories and various under-the-hood fixes. FX Photo Studio lets you shoot directly from the app or bring in images from the camera roll. You can first apply basic edits such as adjusting the crop, brightness, color temperature, exposure, hue, saturation and more. The app’s big draw, however is its newly augmented roster of special effects, which you can apply individually or mix up into unique looks. Those combinations…

Just in time before the regular season begins, the National Football League has announced the expansion of the NFL Now app to connected set-top boxes, including the Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV. The personalized video service will also offer a premium NFL Now Plus feature for $1.99 a month to provide in-game highlights, analysis, press conferences, shows and documentaries from the NFL Films vault. The NFL Now app allows fans to customize content based on their favorite teams, players or fantasy roster. China is forcing public accounts on messaging apps like WeChat to register with their real identity

The Chinese government is now forcing all public account owners on chat apps in the country to register with their true identities and obtain permission to disseminate news, as it steps up efforts in an initiative to “clean up” instant messaging services. The initiative took shape a few months ago, but the government has now issued a list of new rules via state media Xinhua. According to the statement, the project is aimed at public accounts, which are typically owned by either individuals or organizations seeking to communicate on a wider scale to their followers — in a similar way to Facebook’s pages….
