But with a workforce that’s now 29 percent woman, the company is doing better than last year according to an internal email obtained by ZDnet. The email from Microsoft Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Lisa Brummel states that the percentage of woman in the tech company’s workforce grew from 24 to 29 ver the past year. The email also cites the rise in female and minority senior executives from 24 to 27 percent and that the Microsoft board is now 40 percent female and minority compared to 33 precent a year ago. Content curation platform and RSS aggregator Feedly has today launched a range of new features aimed at making it a more collaborative reading platform. Announced on stage at the Evernote conference, today’s updates lay the groundwork for additional social-oriented features coming in 2015. Among the changes is the option to have a public-facing ‘profile’ page and alias, which is really there to support a new collection sharing feature. This, as its name suggests, allows users to create and share collections with friends, family, fans or, well, anyone. Years ago, new Homestar Runner cartoons were the highlight of my Internet week. Since the creators stopped updating the site, I’ve had a Strong Bad-sized hole in my heart.
