Lenovo’s new 13-inch tablet has a built-in projector — watch it in action here

Chinese electronics giant Lenovo unveiled a trio of new devices today, one of which was particularly interesting. The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is a 13-inch, Android-powered tablet…with a built-in projector that lets you beam 16:9 high resolution images and movies directly to a wall or screen. Coupled with its 8-watt sound system and subwoofer, and a QHD 2560 x 1440-pixel screen, it’s hardly surprising it’s being pitched as the ultimate entertainment device. Curious to see how well the projector performs, we gave it a bit of a spin earlier this afternoon, and captured this little video of the $499 device…

Lucky Clan, the outfit behind the ArtStudio drawing and painting program and the Top Camera shooting app, has released a brand new photo app that channels light field photography — sort of. MultiCam for iPhone lets you shoot first and set your focus and exposure later with the help of the manual focus and exposure capabilities of iOS 8. Almost every feature of the app revolves around capturing and saving multiple exposures in a library on the phone and finally choosing the right one to save. A slider interface within the image lets you visually make adjustments. The app has some unintended…

Facebook has started rolling out an update to the layout of its iOS and Android apps to display your most popular photos more prominently. Now when looking through photos of someone, their most-liked photos will show up larger than the rest. You’ll also be seeing a new Uploads tab that sorts all of your uploaded photos chronologically instead of forcing you to scavenge among albums for that one special photo – something you’ll appreciate if you’ve tended to organize your albums by type as well as date. Album thumbnails are now larger as well. The change calls back to when Facebook used to…

If having to switch to the separate Swarm app has got you down on Foursquare, a new iOS feature might convince you to come back. An update to the app has added support for an iOS 8 widget that lets you check-in from the Today section of the Notification Screen and see a handful of nearby friends. To activate the widget, you’ll need to download the update and then hit the “Edit” button at the bottom of the Today screen. From there, you can add Swarm to your list of approved widgets. For my part, I don’t see the Swarm…

Ernie Capobianco, CEO, Sq1, a digital conversion optimization agency. Retaining quality employees can be a challenge. High turnover not only affects morale, but your company’s bottom line will take a hit too. It’s incredibly inefficient to train new people or get them up to speed. It taxes existing staff, and there’s an obvious cost in time and money of procuring new people. So how do you motivate existing employees and keep them hungry and passionate without necessarily giving them substantial pay increases or bonuses? How do you increase employee engagement, and more importantly, loyalty? Motivate them with a chainsaw. I’m sure your…
