Taylor Swift caused a bit of a stir already by not putting her new ‘1989’ album on Spotify last week, though it wasn’t entirely surprising given she has previously kept albums from the music-streaming service at launch. Spotify even included this message for those searching for the album, along with the album tracklisting (but no songs). But Swift, who retains a high level of control over how her music is distributed, has now pulled her entire catalog of tunes from Spotify and Deezer at least, though it still seems to be available on Rdio for now. A search for her…

Samsung today announced that its Galaxy Note Edge will be available in the US beginning November 14. The 5.6-inch screen phone is essentially a Galaxy Note 4 with an added curved display section to the right of the screen, which can be used to display information and control actions separate from the main action. It also features a 16MP camera with optical image stabilization, the Galaxy Note’s S Pen, 3GB of RAM and a Quad HD Super AMOLED display. We went hands-on with the Edge in early September and thought it was one of Samsung’s more innovative devices – though…

City Matchday feat
When a gripping sporting event is unfolding right in front of you, should you be looking down at your phone instead? Manchester City FC, last year’s Premier League soccer champions, are positively encouraging that behavior with their new app. City MatchDay launched last week for Android and iOS as a way for fans to tap into the excitement of a home game, wherever they are in the world. I was invited along City’s Etihad Stadium yesterday to try it out during a derby game against local rivals and international megabrand Manchester United. The centerpiece of the new app is three live video feeds…

Coffee-6
As we usher in another new month in the incessant march towards Christmas 2014 and another new year, there’s a good chance you’ve got better things to be doing at weekends rather than sitting around keeping up-to-date on the latest and greatest in tech news. It’s a busy month, too. Did you know that November is Peanut Butter Lovers Month in the US? Yep, the whole month. Or that San Francisco Bay was first discovered – by land and not sea – on November 2? Or that the name comes from the Latin for nine, as it was originally the ninth month of the Roman…

Mozilla has announced it’s launching a new browser on November 10, “built by developers for developers.” Based on Firefox, the new browser will feature debugging capabilities and special tools like the Firefox Tools Adapter, and WebIDE for coding right in the browser. The new browser will be released on November 10, and interested users can sign up to receive an email update as soon as it’s available.
