Pirate Bay founder, Peter Sunde, has been released from prison in Sweden after serving five months of an eight-month sentence handed down in 2010 for breach of copyright law. He was arrested in May 2014 while visiting family in southern Sweden, after spending two years on the run. Sunde (who uses the handle @brokep) tweeted this morning: “My body just got re-united with my soul and mind, the parts of me that matters and that never can be held hostage. #freebrokep #brokepfree.” TorrentFreak reports that Sunde will now spend some time with his family before returning to work on online…

Apple launches online tool to deregister iMessage, no iPhone necessary

If you’ve previously owned an iPhone and don’t receive texts on your current non-Apple device, it may be because you’re still registered with the iMessage service. Now, you can deregister your number on Apple’s site even if you don’t have your iPhone anymore, in two easy steps. All you need to do is head over to Apple’s new Deregister iMessage page, enter your phone number to receive a confirmation code, and then type the code in to confirm the process.
