Samsung introduces the Oculus-powered Gear VR Innovator Edition

Samsung today announced the Gear VR Innovator Edition, powered by Oculus, at its developer conference in San Francisco. The virtual reality headset is compatible with the Note 4’s 5.7-inch screen for developers to design a 360-degree digital experience. Interested developers can access the Oculus Mobile SDK for Gear VR available now at developer.oculus.com. Upon downloading the Oculus software to their Note 4, users will receive special applications such as Home, Store, Cinema and 360 Videos and Photos to play with. The new Advanced S Pen has double the sensitivity of the current S Pen, recognizes speed, tilt and rotation and features advanced editing. Big changes are coming to the main Twitter timeline soon

On Twitter’s analyst call today, the company shared its plans on changes coming to the timeline in the near future to help increase user interactions and recommendations on the network. First, the company says it will be adding “while you were away” to the top of the timeline for when you haven’t opened the app for a while. Facebook launches a tool for sending personalized thank you videos

Facebook today announced Say Thanks, an experimental service for sending personalized video cards to your friends. Say Thanks lets you choose a theme, photos and posts to generate the video. Once you’re happy with it, you can share it with a message on your and your friend’s timelines. Samsung introduces 3D capturing Project Beyond camera for Gear VR

The new camera captures full 360-degree 3D images and video. The hockey-puck shaped Project Beyond camera is a companion piece of hardware for the Samsung Gear VR headset. The camera capture images at one gigapixel a second. To achieve its 3D capturing of an environment, the inside of the camera is packed with ultra wide-angle cameras.
