With Oculus VR and the Samsung Gear pushing the very limits of what you can cram on your face to see things in 3D, the Google Cardboard project is a bit low-key and lower priced fun alternative. Sprint starts pre-installing Uber on Android phones

Uber just can’t stop steaming ahead, even despite recent criticism. The company today announced a partnership with Sprint that will see its app preloaded on many of the carrier’s Android phones. If you buy a new Android phone from Sprint, you’ll probably find Uber right on the home screen along with a $20 free ride for signing up with your new smartphone. BitTorrent launches new Maelstrom browser with a view to changing the way the Web works

A new browser from BitTorrent hopes to change the way the web works and bring a more distributed internet than ever before. The browser, dubbed “Project Maelstrom,” is in invite-only alpha right now and uses peer-to-peer technology to make the internet more open by giving the control back to users, not just large corporations. Postmates launches its own API so developers can integrate deliveries into their apps

Developers can now tap into the Postmates 6,000 strong delivery system thanks to APIs announced today. According to Postmates, developers can “integrate a world-class local delivery platform into your app using the Postmates API.” For end users, they will be able to get on-demand deliveries with real-time tracking without leaving an app using the Postmates API. Google releases app that will bring live television broadcasts to Android TV

When you’ve got a set-top box for your TV, you might want to watch some live TV, right? Google hasn’t said much about Android TV’s live capabilities, but a new Google-built app appeared in the Play Store today that promises the ability to watch traditional TV channels using a traditional or IP-based tuner. First spotted by Android Police, the app doesn’t seem to do much right now and isn’t compatible with phones or tablets. In fact, it currently can’t be opened on Android TV.
