YouTube Kids
Google is in hot water after child and consumer advocacy groups complained to the Federal Trade Commission that its YouTube Kids app contains content innappropriate for children, reports The Wall Street Journal. The complaint, filed on Tuesday by the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood and the Center for Digital Democracy, stated that the groups found videos that would be “extremely disturbing and/or potentially harmful for young children to view.” The coalition of groups found videos containing explicit sexual language in cartoons, jokes about pedophilia and drug use, adult discussions about family violence, pornography, and child suicide, and a dance tutorial featuring…

Twitter search results header
Twitter’s new search results interface is now rolling out to all logged-in users on its site, with a revised design, more emphasis on images and enhanced filtering options. The refresh, which the company has been testing since April, now highlights important tweets, images and accounts related to your search query. You can switch between ‘Top’ tweets that come from prominent accounts or have been retweeted a lot, and ‘Live’ tweets that bring you the latest posts from the community. In addition, you can choose to look up only photos, videos, accounts and news, and save or embed your searches. There’s…

After announcing the global rollout of its new G4 Android flagship phone, LG is launching two variants of the Android 5.0 Lollipop device for those who want something bigger or smaller than the original. At 5.7 inches, the G4 Stylus is slightly larger than the 5.5-inch G4 and includes a Rubberdium stylus for taking notes and drawing. Meanwhile, the 5-inch G4c is aimed at those who prefer a more compact form factor. Both new devices feature a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB of onboard storage, as well as a 5-megapixel front camera. Those specs don’t match up to…
