Hyperlapse_MS
Microsoft’s Hyperlapse app for smoothing and editing video footage captured on your mobile has been updated to add new features and extend compatibility to older Windows Phone handsets. Among the newly supported devices are the Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020, both of which shipped with Windows Phone 8.0, rather than version 8.1, which was previously required to run the app. Along with extended handset support, Hyperlapse on Windows Phone now has an increased video recording limit (for longer clips) and tweaks to the algorithm to make it easier to use. You will still need a device with at least 512MB…

reddit
It’s a day for Reddit tools. Earlier I wrote about one that’ll show you what was on the frontpage when you first signed up, now here’s one that shows you redditors with similar interests. Built by MoederPoeder, based on an idea that popped up on /r/SomeoneMakeThis, Checkly.io compares your subreddit choices with those of others who sign up for the tool. You can then see what interests you share and message them. Subreddit soulmates discovered by Checkly.io Smartly, it discounts the ones you’re subscribed to by default when you join Reddit to make sure it’s only your personal choices that count. It…

Cortana-image-11-1024x576
When Windows 10 goes live on July 29, Cortana – Microsoft’s answer to Siri and Google Now – will be available in seven countries: the US, UK, China, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. It won’t be long until it hits other locations too. The voice assistant is due to arrive in several new markets by the end of the year. In the “coming months,” Cortana will be available in Japan, Australia, Canada (in English) and India for members of the Windows Insider Program. Later in the year, it’ll be available in Brazil and Mexico too, as well as for French-speaking…

Being pegged as the ‘Instagram for Doctors’, Figure1 for iOS and Android is a growing hit among medical professionals and lay people alike. The photo-sharing network, aimed at health professionals, is free to download and lets health care workers upload photos, X-rays, scans, charts and other details of patients’ illnesses or maladies to get advice or pose questions on diagnoses and care. Figure1 gives workers in the medical industry instant access to clinical information from centers and hospitals all over the world, as well as the expertise and experience of the staff that goes with it. Besides being able to post…

apple pay reader
With all the furore around the launch of Apple Pay in the UK last week, it was bound to throw up the odd problem or two. However, if you spotted Expert Reviews’ report that suggests that Transport for London (TfL) may fine you simply for paying for your trip with Apple Pay, then rest easy. That’s incorrect.
