By the time you finish reading this article, you’ll be minutes closer to the 16 April launch of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. But if you’re anything like me, you want it now and you might spontaneously combust if you have to wait that long. As a public service, I’ve compiled a handful of games that may help tide you over for these next eight months. Keep in mind that based on what we’ve seen so far, and the fact that Keenu Reeves is in the game, there’s simply no satisfaction to be had in video games that came prior…

After the terrible shooting in an El Paso Walmart, the company is apparently taking steps to respect the deaths of twenty-two people. It’s doing this by removing signs advertising certain video games — which begs the question: how exactly is this supposed to help? The company documentation listing the changes was discovered by journalist Kenneth Shepard, who tweeted it out. The rules include turning off any demos for violent games, remove any signage advertising shooters, and cancel any events that promote combat- or shooting-based games. The company also asks that no videos depicting violence or hunting be shown in the…

It was just a few months ago that I wrote about the Naim Mu-so 2, an update to one of the first high-end streaming speakers. For those places, Naim now has the small Mu-So Qb 2nd Generation. I’m just going to call it the Qb 2. Naim is a premium audio company. The Mu-so 2 cost $1,600, so it’s not surprising the smaller Qb 2 comes in at a staggering $899 price point.…

Researchers from the New York University School of Medicine recently developed a method for manipulating brain waves with light to improve learning. The results of the team’s study are incredible – laboratory mice exposed to the new technique showed marked improvement in short-term memory – but the implications of their findings could radically alter the scientific perception of how the brain works. We may not be talking about ‘beaming’ knowledge into our heads yet, but it’s possible we’re not far from a science-based method for instantly remembering things like why in the hell we came into this room in the…

Discord today announced it’s premiering its own internal livestreaming feature, appropriately titled Go Live. It’s essentially a very small video stream where a few friends can comment on your gameplay — but it sounds like a fun alternative to other livestreaming services. Go Live lets Discord users broadcast their gameplay over a voice chat channel in a server. Up to 10 people in the chat room can watch you play. This update adds a game bar to the bottom of your server’s room list. It shows what game you’re currently playing and the Go Live button. Once you go live,…
