Sony boss wants to bring first-party PlayStation titles to PC

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) boss Shawn Layden yesterday alluded to the possibility that first-party PlayStation titles may soon launch on PC. While there’s nothing clear to go on just yet, the move would make perfect sense for the company as it prepares for the next console war with Microsoft. The news comes from Business Insider’s Christopher Palmeri who reported that Layden, in an interview, said: We must support the PlayStation platform — that is nonnegotiable. That said, you will see in the future some titles coming out of my collection of studios which may need to lean into a wider installed base.…

Facebook is offering new privacy tools that allow users to personally manage how much dirt on your browsing and spending habits Facebook gets from other websites — in theory, at least. Have you ever been browsing Facebook and noticed an ad for something you were looking up on another website not five minutes ago? If you’re like me, you immediately cringe in recognition of just how much Facebook has access to. It feels as though the site knows everything. Today, we’re starting to roll out Off-Facebook Activity, a new feature that gives you more control over your datahttps://t.co/GXpWUKeAyL — Facebook Newsroom…

Review: The Plantronics RIG 700HX is a gaming headset I wouldn’t be embarrassed to use at work

Poly isn’t the most likely candidate to make a gaming headset. The company was formed by the merger of Polycom and Plantronics, both of which boast long pedigrees in the corporate communication technology sphere. It’s for that reason why, when I got my hands on the RIG 700HX, I kept my expectations tempered. I shouldn’t have bothered. The Poly/Plantronics RIG 700HX (for some reason, the company decided to use its older branding with this headset) is a genuinely competent bit of kit, offering rich and detailed sound that’s centered around a comfortable and well-designed frame. It’s got more than enough…

Robert De Niro’s firm sues employee for $6M for binging 55 eps of Friends at work

We need a new category for this sort of Netflix activity. Robert De Niro’s company has filed a $6 million lawsuit against a former employee who purportedly binged Netflix while on the clock, Variety reports. Canal Productions, the actor’s loan-out company, alleges that – in addition to binging – Chase Robinson also put exorbitant restaurant and hotel charges on the firm’s tab, and used lots of De Niro’s frequent flyer points for personal trips. Robinson got her foot in as an assistant to De Niro in 2008, but was later promoted to “vice president of production and finance” at the loan-out…

Dark web dealer made to forfeit millions in cryptocurrency gets 70 months in the slammer

A drug dealer ordered to forfeit millions of dollars in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Monero, has been sentenced to 70 months in prison for distributing drugs including carfentanil and fentanyl. Sky Justin Gornik previously pled guilty to the charge and also admitted that he tried to launder drug proceeds using cryptocurrencies, which he held on US-based exchanges Bittrex and Poloniex. As part of his plea, Gornik admitted he bought and sold controlled substances on the dark web from 2014 to June 7, 2017. To do so, he used several screen names on marketplaces including Alpha Bay, Dream Market, and…
