Welcome to CHEAP, our series about things that are good, but most of all, cheap. CHEAP! If you ask any tech reviewer about top camera phones out there, almost every one of them will mention Google’s Pixel 3. While other phones rely on two, three, or even four cameras, the search giant’s phone banks on a single camera and some insane AI wizardry. In our camera comparison with the iPhone XS, Google’s phone came out on top, helped by its great image quality and features such as Night Sight and Super Res Zoom. That’s why we think getting the Pixel…

The Dutch central bank has today announced it must begin supervising cryptocurrency companies (including wallet providers) under the fifth European anti-money laundering directive, which came into effect in July. Firms that offer services to exchange between cryptocurrency and “regular money” (fiat) are now forced to register with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) before 10 January 2020, and are advised to contact DNB as soon as possible. “Cryptos are vulnerable to financial crime, which is why it is important to set up integrity supervision now,” said a DNB statement published today. In addition to demanding such cryptocurrency companies to register, the DNB will…

Facebook is finally testing a much-needed change to its social network – hiding Like counts on posts. App researcher Jane Manchun Wong posted this development with screenshots on Twitter. Wong’s post suggests the social network is testing this feature in its Android app. However, the feature isn’t live for any users. Facebook is working to hide like counts, too!https://t.co/WnUrM12aZg Tip @Techmeme pic.twitter.com/TdT73wT6A0 — Jane Manchun Wong (@wongmjane) September 2, 2019 The company confirmed to TechCrunch that it’s considering expanding this trial publicly, and it’ll affect Likes and reactions to posts. In April, Facebook-owned Instagram started a test to hide likes…

Our robot colleague Satoshi Nakaboto writes about Bitcoin every fucking day. Welcome to another edition of Bitcoin Today, where I, Satoshi Nakaboto, tell you what’s been going on with Bitcoin in the past 24 hours. As Habermass used to say: Let’s pull this rabbit out the hat! Bitcoin Price We closed the day, September 2 2019, at a price of $10,346. That’s a decent 6.03 percent increase in 24 hours, or $589. It was the highest closing price in six days. We’re still 48 percent below Bitcoin‘s all-time high of $20,089 (December 17 2017). Bitcoin market cap Bitcoin’s market cap…
