Cybersecurity researchers have warned of a critical vulnerability in SIM cards that could allow remote attackers to compromise targeted mobile phones and spy on victims without their knowledge just by sending an SMS. Dublin-based firm AdaptiveMobile Security said the flaw — dubbed “Simjacker” — has been actively exploited for at least two years by a spyware vendor that works with governments to track individuals. The firm didn’t disclose the name of the company nor the individuals who may have been targeted in this way. The European Union needs to establish a common set of rules for cryptocurrencies to counteract risks posed by Facebook’s Libra, France’s Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said today. Apple has revised its App Store Review Guidelines with regards to kids’ apps, and its upcoming Sign in with Apple authentication feature. Its guidelines have now been updated to state that, in limited cases, third-party analytics may be permitted in kids apps — provided that the services do not collect or transmit any identifiable information about children, such as their name, date of birth, email address, location, or unique device identifier. While Apple explicitly forbids developers from collecting any device or network information that could be used directly or combined with other information to identify users and their devices, it’s permitting third-party…

Mozilla’s foray into paid services is finally kicking off for real. The Firefox maker is rolling out a new offer for organizations that run the browser in enterprise environments with a premium support plan. Costing $10 per supported installation, Firefox Premium Support will provide several benefits, including capabilities to submit bugs privately, get critical security bug fixes, and even contribute to the browser and its roadmap, as noted by Ghacks.
