Blind gamer racks up 7,600 kills in Call of Duty: WWII

Ever heard the expressions, “A blind person could do better,” or “What are you, blind?” Be careful if you say that while playing Call of Duty, because you could be talking to TJ, a visually impaired gamer who, if we’re being honest, could probably whip my ass at any given FPS and yours too. TJ, who streams on YouTube under the name “tj the blind gamer,” is an avid Call of Duty player who is, by his own admission, getting back into games after losing his vision at the age of 18. Judging from his play, he’s got less rust on…

Parents are shelling out $20/hour for Fortnite tutors and the internet is losing its goddamn mind

Reddit recently learned that a hacker managed to access multiple employee accounts and walk away with “some” current email addresses and a 2007 database backup. It’s in the midst of a “painstaking investigation” currently to figure out what went wrong. On June 19, Reddit discovered that hackers had compromised “a few” employee accounts with access to its cloud storage and source code hosting providers. Unfortunately, we don’t know what “some” or “a few” entails. We’ve reached out to Reddit for further clarification. Hackers reportedly bypassed the providers’ two factor authentication (2FA) system using an SMS intercept, meaning the person(s) responsible…

Facebook’s airplane reaction wasn’t cleared for takeoff

You might have noticed an addition to Facebook‘s menu of reactions yesterday: A tiny airplane. This unidentified flying object disappeared as quickly as it appeared, but that didn’t stop users from undertaking some pretty weird — and utterly pointless — rituals to get it. You can plane react on Facebook for some reason pic.twitter.com/7VQ9A2ryZ7 — Sara (@Sarafromschool) July 31, 2018 The reaction was obviously not intended for prime time. It appeared as an extra “angry” emote in the reaction bar — the plane wouldn’t show for some until you selected the angry face, as seen in this video — and…
